About the event

You will climb our spiritual home - Mount Fanny, a mountain in Oregon, US, which stands at 2175m tall. That’s 7136ft for the oldies amongst us. Before you go google it, believe us, it definitely does exist.

Your challenge is to complete a ride or rides over the weekend of 18/19th July which covers this amount of distance and height.

We’re keeping it simple so there’s only 3 rules:

1. Do it on a mountain bike. It can be any mountain bike you like as long as it’s a mountain bike (not a gravel bike, road bike or hybrid).

2. The majority of your ride should be off road. You can do it on any route whatsoever.

3. Find a Fanny Pal to do it with. We’ll help pair up any Fannies if you are looking for someone to ride with.

We’ll be posting up training tips each week to keep you motivated.

You should be self sufficient (have your own tools, spare inner tube, helmet, waterproof jacket, water, food etc) and be aware of the government guidelines around COVID-19 before you embark on this. It is important to follow the rules (please refer to DMBiNS’s COVID-19 regular updates on their FB page)and make sure you ride within your limits. We are very conscious that we don’t want to put any strain on our emergency services.

By giving you six weeks to train, you should be ready to take this on by mid July.

There will be a couple of requirements on the day that we’ll let you know about nearer the time.

Get signed up now! You might even want to come up with a team name for you and your fanny pal.
